1. Information We Collect

When you use RestInLight, we collect information you provide directly:

• Account information (name, email address) via Google OAuth or email sign-in
• Memorial content you create (text, photos, timeline entries)
• Guestbook messages left by visitors
• Payment information processed securely through Paddle (we do not store card details)

We also automatically collect basic usage data such as page views, browser type, and device information through Vercel Analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the RestInLight service
• To process payments and manage your account
• To generate AI-assisted tribute content at your request
• To send transactional emails (login links, payment confirmations)
• To improve our service and fix issues

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising purposes.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Photos are stored on Cloudflare R2 with access controls. Database information is hosted on Neon PostgreSQL with encryption at rest and in transit.

Memorial pages can be set to public or password-protected at your discretion.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Paddle — Payment processing
• Cloudflare R2 — Photo storage
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI tribute generation
• Resend — Transactional emails
• Vercel — Hosting and analytics
• Google — OAuth authentication

Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

5. AI Content Generation

When you use AI tribute writing, the information you provide (memories, details about your loved one) is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate content. This data is processed according to Anthropic's usage policies and is not used to train AI models.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Export your memorial data (available in dashboard settings)
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
